Wanderlust looks surprisingly good on a bag
With the ANY DI SunCover Paradiso, someone clearly decided that holding back on colour was unnecessary. Quite right too. This glasses case fits an entire imaginary tropical landscape onto a compact 13.5 x 7 x 1.5 cm: large flowers in pink, red and yellow mingle with lush green leaves, exotic birds, orange pineapples and symmetrical graphic details on a light background. The result evokes abundant gardens, faraway destinations and that rather lovely feeling of everyday life suddenly seeming very distant. The multicoloured SunCover is made from vegan leather, complemented by glossy gold-plated metal elements and a 24-carat gold-plated press stud. Inside comes another burst of colour. Vibrant pink microfibre pads sit gently against the lenses, helping to protect them from dust and scratches while cleaning them as they are stored. Thanks to its patented shape, the glasses case is suitable for all common glasses shapes and sizes. A hanger on the back also allows Paradiso to be attached to a bag, belt or compatible strap. It is protection for your glasses and an accessory in its own right. And fairly convincing proof that practical does not have to mean beige.
Your sunglasses just got the best seat
The idea behind the ANY DI SunCover is deliberately simple. Place the open case over the lenses and close the gold-plated press stud, then fold the arms of your glasses behind the back section. The delicate lenses remain protected between the soft microfibre surfaces while the arms stay outside. Its patented construction accommodates sunglasses and many optical frames in a variety of shapes and sizes without requiring the bulk of a traditional glasses case.
This clever concept becomes particularly useful when you are out and about. The hanger on the back allows the SunCover to be worn directly on the outside of a Bag or attached to a belt, keeping your sunglasses within easy reach rather than somewhere between your phone, keys and the mysterious collection that tends to develop at the bottom of a handbag. At the same time, Paradiso becomes part of your look. The bright pink microfibre lining protects and gently cleans the lenses while the compact format keeps everything pleasingly light.
A good idea with quite a journey behind it
ANY DI was founded by Anne Dickhardt, whose route into design originally pointed in a very different direction. Competitive tennis shaped much of her early life until an injury in 2006 changed those plans. Anne subsequently studied fashion and design management in Munich and began developing her own approach to accessories: aesthetics, flexibility and function should not simply coexist, but work naturally together. Innovative bag concepts such as the Bag L came first, followed by the distinctive SunCover.
Paradiso captures that philosophy in particularly colourful form. Its design speaks of travel, exotic flora and fauna and a joyful use of colour, while behind it sits a surprisingly practical purpose. The glasses are protected, the microfibre surfaces gently clean the lenses and the case can be carried exactly where it remains easy to reach.
