A little Christmas tree with a surprisingly long glow

The Christmas tree may not be up yet, but one has already found its way onto the table. The Fir Tree S sculptural candle from the ENGELS OBJEKTE collection by Engels Kerzen turns the familiar silhouette of a fir tree into a calm, graphic form. Three gently tiered sections shape the little tree from paraffin wax, while the rich Fichte spruce green sits beautifully alongside natural materials, warm woods and soft winter tones. At 15 cm high and 6.2 cm in diameter, this green shaped candle is compact enough for a tray, sideboard or dining table, yet has enough presence to hold its own. Its matt velvet-lacquer finish absorbs light rather than reflecting it, giving the colour an appealing sense of depth. Handmade and coloured throughout, the candle is made in Germany from vegan, REACH-certified paraffin wax, weighs approximately 120 g and offers a burn time of around 20 hours. One candle is supplied. Christmas decoration without the need for tinsel

Even before it is lit, the velvet-lacquer Fir Tree candle works as a small decorative object in its own right. That is very much part of its appeal: it brings a recognisable hint of Christmas into the home without turning the entire room into a festive stage set. Add it to an Advent table for a calm green accent, place it on a coaster or tray for an easy seasonal arrangement, or surround it with fir branches, pine cones and other natural accessories. The spruce green shade feels particularly at home amongst earthy materials and warm neutrals. It also works beautifully as part of a contemporary Advent wreath or centrepiece. For a little more forest on the table, combine several fir tree candles in different sizes. The varying heights add depth while the repeated silhouette keeps the overall look considered and calm.

A small forest is entirely acceptable on the table
