Engels Kerzen: Engels Fine Line

Pillar Candle Burgundy 15 cm

Burgundy, with a soft spot for beautiful lines

Rich burgundy, delicate ridges and a shape that looks rather lovely even before you light the wick. The ENGELS FINE LINE pillar candle in Burgundy brings colour and texture to your table without demanding everyone's attention. Measuring 15 cm in height and 7 cm in diameter, this cylindrical ribbed candle has beautifully balanced proportions, making it equally appealing on its own or as part of a thoughtfully arranged group. Fine vertical grooves run along its surface, creating a delicate texture that catches the candlelight and gives the flame a wonderful sense of movement. Hand-poured in Germany using REACH-certified paraffin wax, the candle is vegan, coloured all the way through and offers approximately 40 hours of burn time. Its deep red shade brings to mind ripe berries and a rather good glass of wine, while remaining beautifully understated. Place it on a simple candle plate, amongst ceramics and natural materials or alongside your favourite decorative pieces. It has a way of feeling right at home wherever it goes.

Little ridges, endless decorating possibilities

The FINE LINE collection by Engels Kerzen explores how a simple shape can become something rather special through texture. Its narrow vertical grooves create a subtle interplay of light and shadow, changing as the candle burns. Because the wax is coloured throughout, the rich burgundy shade remains consistent as the candle gradually becomes shorter. The carefully selected paraffin wax is designed to support a calm flame and an even burn. Display this pillar candle on a flat, heat-resistant candle plate, in a decorative bowl with a suitable candle insert or on a properly sized holder. During autumn, its deep colour sits beautifully alongside natural branches, dark wood and warm textiles. At Christmas, it adds richness to festive table settings and Advent wreaths. In spring, pair it with pale linens and fresh flowers for a contrast that feels unexpectedly fresh. And for birthdays or leisurely dinners with friends, it needs very little encouragement to join the occasion.

Craftsmanship that takes its time

Engels Kerzen has been making candles in Kempen, Germany, since 1933. What began with candles for religious occasions has grown over generations into a family-run manufacturer known for its collections for interiors, table settings and celebrations. Traditional craftsmanship, careful material selection and German production remain central to the company's identity. The FINE LINE collection reflects this approach through its hand-poured construction, precisely defined ribbed surface and carefully selected paraffin wax. The wax is refined in Germany and subject to strict quality controls, supporting the candle's reliable burning characteristics. At LIVOSY, we appreciate this combination of experience and contemporary design. It reflects something we value in the objects we choose: thoughtful details, materials with a purpose and pieces that bring personality into a room without trying too hard.

A little drama looks lovely on the table

Burgundy is a colour that enjoys good company. Pair it with cream candles for a calm, considered arrangement, introduce warm brown tones for an inviting autumn mood or add soft pink for a playful, contemporary contrast. The ENGELS FINE LINE collection includes six coordinated colours, with both pillar candles and taper candles available for mixing different heights and shapes. You can also combine this ribbed pillar candle with classic Engels ribbed candles, simple candle holders, lanterns and decorative plates. To help maintain an even burn, Engels recommends trimming the wick to approximately 1 cm before lighting and keeping the candle away from draughts on a heat-resistant surface. With around 40 hours of burn time, this burgundy candle is ready for cosy evenings, unhurried conversations and those dinners that turn into rather longer occasions than planned. A lovely addition to your own home, or a thoughtful little gift for someone who appreciates the details.
