A shade of green that likes a little more height

At 20 cm tall, the ENGELS ORIGINAL Spruce pillar candle by Engels Kerzen has noticeably more presence than its smaller companions without ever feeling overly dominant. Its 8 cm diameter keeps the silhouette clean and slender, while the deep Spruce green brings depth to a table, sideboard, windowsill or larger candle arrangement. This set contains two pillar candles made in Germany from solid-coloured paraffin wax, cast by hand and carefully polished. The smooth, subtly silky surface is characteristic of the ENGELS ORIGINAL collection and gives the green a softly luminous quality as the light changes. A rounded polished rim and gently recessed candle top add the distinctive finishing touches to the simple cylindrical form. The paraffin wax is REACH-certified and vegan, and an integrated burn stop is part of the considered construction. 108 hours leaves plenty of room for atmosphere

The 20 cm height makes this pillar candle especially useful in larger arrangements where smaller candles can easily disappear. Two matching candles placed together create a calm, balanced look, while positioning them on separate trays, candle plates or holders gives the room a more relaxed rhythm. Combine them with 12 cm or 15 cm pillar candles for an arrangement with varied heights that needs very little additional decoration. Spruce is equally versatile when it comes to colour. With wood, cream, white and natural shades, it feels calm and organic; alongside red, burgundy and warm metallic tones, it moves naturally towards Advent and Christmas. For an even burn, Engels Kerzen recommends trimming the wick to approximately 1 cm before first lighting and checking the length again before each subsequent use. Any residue should be removed with sharp scissors. If the candle rim becomes too high or uneven as it burns, it can be carefully adjusted while the wax is still warm. Fingerprints, light marks or dust on the polished surface can be gently buffed away with fine nylon. A few simple habits help both the flame and the finish stay beautifully calm.
