Product information "Ribbed Candle Velvet Lacquer Pebble 15 cm"
A little pebble, a lot of atmosphere
Grey can feel surprisingly warm. The ENGELS KLASSIK ribbed candle in Pebble makes a rather convincing case for it: its calm grey tone, distinctive vertical grooves and velvety matt finish give this 15 cm candle an almost sculptural presence. With a diameter of 8 cm, it has enough character for a sideboard, dining table or windowsill without demanding the entire room's attention. The ribbed pillar candle is made from paraffin wax and is solid-coloured, vegan, dipped and handcrafted. Its surface adds another dimension. Engels Kerzen's Samt-Lack velvet lacquer captures light rather than strongly reflecting it, giving the muted Pebble shade a lovely sense of depth. The matt finish is also resistant to fingerprints. Once lit, the candle reveals another side of its character: with a burn time of approximately 68 hours, this decorative object becomes a warm source of light for many long evenings.
Grooves made for changing light
The vertical texture gives this pillar candle its distinctive rhythm. Fine shadows form along the grooves as the light changes, while the velvet lacquer deliberately softens reflections. The ribbed candle therefore has plenty of visual interest before it is even lit, then takes on a different character once the flame begins to glow. Pebble is a wonderfully understated colour: warm enough to sit alongside wood, beige and natural materials, yet clean enough to complement black, glass or stainless steel. That makes it an easy companion throughout the seasons. Place it among pale accessories in spring, pair it with earthy tones in autumn or bring it into an Advent arrangement at Christmas. Its quiet grey also works beautifully for birthdays, weddings and tables where the candlelight should set the mood rather than dictate it.
Good candlelight comes with experience
Engels Kerzen is a German candle manufacturer producing candles in Kempen since 1933. Generations of craftsmanship, knowledge of materials and a curiosity for new colours, forms and finishes come together in its collections. That approach feels very much at home in our LIVOSY selection: a candle can create atmosphere while still offering substance in its materials, craftsmanship and everyday use. The ENGELS KLASSIK ribbed candle is made from paraffin wax, with Engels using paraffin refined in Germany and manufacturing its candles in its own workshop. For an even burn, the wick should be trimmed to approximately 1 cm before lighting and checked again before each subsequent use. A small detail, but one that helps the flame burn calmly and the candle perform as intended.
Five candles? Entirely reasonable.
The Pebble ribbed candle works beautifully on its own on a simple candle plate or holder. Things become even more interesting when different heights, colours and silhouettes are brought together. Group several ENGELS KLASSIK ribbed candles, place Pebble beside warmer shades or contrast its textured surface with smooth pillar and taper candles. Lanterns, bowls and restrained candle holders provide an equally natural setting. At LIVOSY, you can also discover other candle collections by Engels Kerzen, including Fine Line taper and pillar candles, sculptural object candles and ENGELS ORIGINAL, alongside accessories such as candle sharpeners, candle snuffers and wax adhesive pads. Start with one ribbed candle and let the arrangement evolve with the seasons. No grand decorating plan required.
