Four candles with a little more height
Four at 20 centimetres, four in Pebble, four with the same calm presence. This ENGELS KLASSIK set brings together four ribbed candles whose tall proportions, 8 cm diameter and distinctive vertical grooves give any arrangement a clear, considered rhythm. The warm grey Pebble shade feels restrained without becoming cool, while the matt velvet-lacquer finish adds visual depth. Rather than strongly reflecting light, the surface absorbs it softly, making the candles interesting even before they are lit and creating a gentle play of flame, shadow and texture afterwards. Each ribbed candle is made from paraffin wax and is solid-coloured, vegan, dipped and handcrafted in Germany. The velvet-lacquer surface is also resistant to fingerprints, which is useful when the candles are regularly rearranged. With an approximate burn time of 95 hours per candle, the set is designed for rather more than one evening. Four candles, then, with ambitions beyond simply looking good together.

Engels Kerzen has been producing candles in its Kempen workshop since 1933, combining traditional craftsmanship with a strong understanding of colour, form and surface. That balance is especially visible in the ribbed candles with their velvet-lacquer finish. The paraffin used by Engels is refined in Germany and REACH-certified, while each candle is carefully made for a calm and even burn. For the best result, Engels Kerzen recommends trimming the wick to approximately 1 cm before the first lighting and checking it again before each subsequent use. This helps the heat distribute more evenly and allows the melt pool to develop properly. With four candles offering around 95 hours of burn time each, a small amount of care makes good sense. More ritual than chore.
