A green that doesn't turn the room into a garden

Fresh, calm and carrying just the right amount of colour, the ENGELS ORIGINAL taper candles by Engels Kerzen bring a soft Linden green to the table that sits remarkably naturally alongside timber, ceramics, glass and neutral shades. The set contains four cast, solid-coloured taper candles made from paraffin wax, manufactured in Germany and carefully finished by hand at the manufactory. Each candle measures 30 cm in height and 2.2 cm in diameter and features a tapered base for placing it in a suitable candle holder. The characteristic hand-polished surface of the ENGELS ORIGINAL collection gives the gentle green a subtle silky sheen, making the colour appear even softer in candlelight. The paraffin is REACH-certified, the candles are vegan and each offers approximately 13 hours of burn time. Plenty for leisurely breakfasts, long dinners and whatever happens in between. This shade of green, after all, has very little interest in being brought out only at Easter.

A hint of spring, with no particular regard for the calendar

Linden sits somewhere between fresh green and a softly muted pastel, bringing colour to a setting without taking over the table. It feels particularly light alongside ivory, white, pale timber and clear glass. Combine it with Pebble, beige and other natural tones for a calmer palette, or introduce burgundy, deeper greens and colourful ceramics for deliberate contrast. In spring and at Easter, fresh branches, flowers and pale table linen are natural companions, yet the understated green works just as easily for summer tables, birthdays and weddings. Even during Advent, Linden can take on a different character beside deeper greens and warm metallic tones. A single 30 cm dinner candle in a holder feels clean and restrained, while several colours and heights create a more relaxed arrangement. Before first lighting, Engels Kerzen recommends trimming the wick to approximately 1 cm and checking this length regularly during subsequent use. This helps encourage a calm flame and an even burn.

The paraffin is refined in Germany, REACH-certified and contributes to the slightly translucent, luminous appearance associated with the collection. Linden is rather good at choosing company

Four Linden taper candles can change the mood of a table without requiring everything around them to change too. Pair them with ivory, Pebble, cream or other soft greens for a light, natural setting. For more contrast, introduce individual candles in burgundy or other deeper shades. Mixing shapes adds another layer: slender taper candles create height, while pillar and sculptural candles bring quieter volumes to the arrangement.
