The 16 cm universal saucer from the DATUM – SATIN collection by FÜRSTENBERG was designed exactly for moments like these. Crafted from fine hard porcelain in Germany, the saucer combines precise geometry with a soft satin finish that feels remarkably smooth to the touch. The collection itself was created in collaboration with Foster + Partners Industrial Design and follows a modular concept where every piece relates geometrically to another. DATUM was developed for contemporary everyday living, combining aesthetic clarity with thoughtful functionality. The universal saucer is dishwasher and microwave safe, making it ideal for daily use while still carrying the quiet refinement of handcrafted porcelain.

Its versatile size allows it to work beautifully beneath coffee cups and mugs, but also as a small plate for pastries, chocolates or delicate snacks. With DATUM, FÜRSTENBERG and Foster + Partners Industrial Design created a collection that merges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design culture. Awarded the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023, the series demonstrates how timeless modern porcelain can feel when form and function truly belong together.
