Doormat Dachshund

Short legs, a very warm welcome

This little dachshund may be short on legs, but he's certainly not short on hospitality. The Gift Company Dachshund Doormat greets visitors with an endearing illustration and the wonderfully fitting message "SHORT LEGS, BIG WELCOME!" Set against a soft, slightly muted blue background, a long black dachshund stretches across the mat with floppy ears, wide curious eyes, a golden-brown snout and a cheeky flash of pink tongue. His remarkably long body even provides enough space for the entire welcome message in cream-coloured lettering. It's playful, affectionate and just a little bit mischievous, rather like the real thing. Measuring 75 x 45 cm, this rectangular doormat is made from natural coconut coir with a vinyl backing. The textured coir surface helps brush loose dirt from shoes, while the vinyl underside provides additional grip on a level floor. Weighing approximately 2.2 kg and made in India, the mat has a reassuringly substantial feel. A practical everyday accessory with plenty of character, and a very good reason to smile before stepping inside.

The friendliest little doorman in town

There are certain advantages to having a dachshund guarding your doorstep. This one welcomes every visitor, never asks for treats and doesn't leave muddy pawprints behind. The Gift Company Dachshund Doormat combines that gentle humour with a genuinely useful purpose. Its natural coconut fibres create a firm, textured surface that helps remove loose dirt from footwear before it reaches your hallway. The vinyl backing helps the mat stay in place on a level, dry surface. It's particularly well suited to flat entrances, sheltered front doorways and covered patio doors. As with most natural coir mats, prolonged exposure to rain or excessive moisture is best avoided to help preserve the fibres. Everyday cleaning is simple: shake out loose dirt, gently beat the mat or vacuum it when dry. The muted blue background provides a pleasing contrast to the black dog illustration, making the design easy to pair with timber doors, pale walls or darker floor tiles. A little personality at the entrance, without making a fuss.

German creativity with a soft spot for humour

Gift Company has been developing imaginative gifts and home accessories in Hamburg since 1991, bringing colour, creativity and a playful sense of humour to familiar everyday objects. The German design brand enjoys giving ordinary products an unexpected twist, whether through expressive patterns, unusual colour combinations or illustrations that tell a story. The Dachshund Doormat captures this approach rather beautifully. Its cheerful dog illustration and witty message turn a practical household essential into a small expression of personality. At LIVOSY, we appreciate objects that feel natural in everyday life while reflecting the individual character of the people who choose them. Our changing Gift Company collection includes not only distinctive doormats but also Artisan vases, Love Plates glass dishes, Love Trays decorative trays, Froid bottle coolers and Madras lanterns. Each brings its own touch of creativity to the home, sometimes quietly and sometimes with a little more mischief.

A loyal companion for your front door

The Gift Company Dachshund Doormat feels particularly at home in entrances decorated with natural materials and carefully chosen details. Place it in front of a simple wooden or charcoal-coloured door and let the black dachshund stand out against the soft blue background. Ceramic planters, leafy green plants and understated outdoor lighting create a relaxed setting without competing with the playful illustration. Inside the hallway, you could pick up the blue tones with a colourful Artisan vase or complement the cheerful mood with a decorative Love Tray from Gift Company. It's also a thoughtful gift for dachshund enthusiasts, dog lovers and anyone who enjoys a little humour in their home accessories. At 75 x 45 cm, the mat provides a practical space for everyday arrivals and departures, while its charming message makes every visitor feel welcome. After all, a big heart matters far more than long legs. And this particular little dog is always happy to see you.
