Tabletop Fire 1200 All Black

Tonight, the flame is the entertainment

No swirling fire, no fireplace and, rather conveniently, no stack of logs in the living room: the höfats DANCE 1200 Tabletop Fire All Black lets a calm, clearly visible flame move behind a slender cylinder of heat-resistant borosilicate glass. At 40.3 cm high and 15.7 cm in diameter, it remains pleasantly compact, yet its entirely black finish and tinted glass give it a striking presence. Inside, the Bioethanol-Burner uses liquid höfats bioethanol to create an even flame that remains clearly visible in daylight. At the same time, DANCE 1200 radiates up to 1,500 W of pleasant warmth. Filled to its maximum with approximately 500 ml of fuel, the flame burns for around 2.5 hours; add the supplied Eco-Ring and the smaller flame extends the burn time to as much as 4.5 hours using the same amount of bioethanol. The set includes the base, Bioethanol-Burner, Eco-Ring, glass cylinder and extinguishing lid. The result is real fire for a dining table, sideboard, terrace or balcony that feels remarkably natural in its surroundings.

Four hours later, you may still be sitting there

DANCE is designed for those moments when light should do rather more than simply make a room brighter. Its flame moves calmly within the glass cylinder, creating warm light and noticeable heat without visually overwhelming the space. Unlike the characteristic flame vortex of höfats SPIN, the DANCE flame is not shaped into a spiral by incoming air. Instead, it rises more calmly and evenly, giving DANCE an identity entirely of its own.

The Tabletop Fire is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use and has been tested for indoor operation according to DIN EN 16647. When used with the specified liquid höfats bioethanol, it burns without odour, soot or smoke. The enclosed Bioethanol-Burner is filled through its safety valve, while the Eco-Ring gives you a choice between a more prominent flame or a reduced flame height and longer burn time. When the evening comes to an end, the supplied extinguishing lid allows the fire to be put out safely. DANCE must only be operated with the specified liquid höfats bioethanol, which is available separately.

Fire knows how to speak quietly, too

Founded in 2015 in Germany's Allgäu region, höfats combines design and engineering with a fairly unmistakable enthusiasm for fire. The company takes its name from Höfats, the distinctive grass mountain in the Allgäu Alps. From those roots has grown a collection in which fire is not merely decorated but reconsidered through engineering. It includes tabletop fires such as DANCE and SPIN alongside MOON fire bowls, fire baskets and grills. The company and its development heritage are rooted in the Allgäu, although this should not be taken as a blanket claim that every höfats product is manufactured in Germany.

Within this family, DANCE deliberately explores the quieter side of fire. SPIN is known for its sculptural vortex, while the MOON fire bowl uses wood and wood-gasification technology for larger outdoor fire moments. DANCE focuses instead on a single, steady flame behind glass. It sits rather naturally with the LIVOSY philosophy: objects do not have to shout to create atmosphere. Quite often, the opposite is far more interesting.

All Black, warm light – everything else can have the colour

The All Black edition makes DANCE 1200 particularly easy to place. Its matt black finish and dark tinted glass cylinder work equally well with timber, stone, glass or a laid dining table. During the day, DANCE appears almost like a graphic interior object; after dark, the flame takes over and changes its character completely. Alongside ceramics and glassware in the living room, during dinner on the terrace or as a calm focal point on a coffee table, it needs very little additional decoration.

DANCE is available in different sizes and colour options, making it easy to choose a version that suits its surroundings. For anyone drawn to a calm flame, real fire and restrained design, DANCE 1200 All Black offers an intriguing alternative to candles and conventional tabletop fireplaces. You cannot simply switch it on, admittedly. Perhaps that is part of its charm: add the fuel, light the fire, position the glass and give the evening a few hours to slow down.
