Tabletop Fire 900 Silver

A small fire with rather good plans for the evening

A glass of wine, a few people around the table and a real flame in between that clearly has no intention of behaving like an ordinary candle. The höfats DANCE 900 Tabletop Fire in Silver brings open fire into a pleasantly slender format, combining brushed metal with a tall, clear cylinder of borosilicate glass. At 31 cm high and only 10.5 cm in diameter, DANCE 900 requires very little surface space, making it easy to place on a dining table, coffee table, sideboard or terrace. Its weight of just 0.75 kg also makes moving it between favourite spots refreshingly simple. Inside, the Bio-Burner uses liquid höfats bioethanol to create a clearly visible flame with a heat output of up to 650 W. It burns without odour, soot or smoke and, depending on use, offers a burn time of approximately two to four hours. The base, Bio-Burner, Eco-Ring, glass cylinder and extinguishing lid are included. The required höfats liquid bioethanol fuel is sold separately and is the specified fuel for operation.

Watching fire is a rather good pastime again

How does höfats DANCE work? Liquid bioethanol fuel is added to the Bio-Burner and ignited, creating the characteristic moving flame within the borosilicate glass cylinder. The tall glass surrounds the fire while keeping it clearly visible from around the room. The supplied Eco-Ring can be used to reduce the flame for a more restrained burn, while the extinguishing lid brings the fire to a controlled end. DANCE 900 is approved for indoor use according to DIN EN 16647 and is also suitable for outdoor settings.

Its compact dimensions are a large part of the appeal. There is still room for plates, bowls and glasses on a laid dining table, while the flame has enough presence to alter the mood of the setting. On a sideboard, DANCE becomes a glowing interior object; outside, it can accompany evenings on the balcony or terrace. The brushed silver finish softly reflects the warm firelight and gives this version a lighter visual character than the All Black edition. For anyone drawn to real fire without wanting the scale of a large fire bowl or fire basket, DANCE offers a more interior-friendly and flexible alternative.

The company's approach also brings together two disciplines that remain central to its identity: design and engineering. höfats has its company and development roots in the Allgäu; the product information available for DANCE 900 does not, however, establish that this particular product is manufactured there or elsewhere in Germany.

DANCE translates that thinking into a particularly home-friendly form. Unlike a grill, large fire bowl or other outdoor fire feature, this Tabletop Fire does not need a garden as its stage. It can sit right in the living space and carries the relevant approval for indoor use.
