Natalini: ANNIVERSARIO

Picture Frame Bianco 10x15 cm

Black and white, without being terribly serious about it

A favourite photograph gets a frame here that knows exactly how much attention to ask for. The Natalini ANNIVERSARIO Bianco photo frame holds 10 x 15 cm pictures and combines a light, white to creamy-looking wooden surface with a fine black inlay design. Small dark rectangles run around the photograph like a graphic border, introducing a surprisingly contemporary rhythm to the restrained colouring. At 20 mm wide, the frame remains finely proportioned and leaves plenty of visual space for the picture itself. Made in Italy from lacquered wood, it is finished at the back with a velvety covering and rotating tabs that make changing photographs straightforward. An integrated stand allows the frame to be displayed in either portrait or landscape orientation. Portrait, holiday scene or a snapshot from that evening that went on rather longer than expected? The photograph can decide which way round it goes.

A little black line with quite a history behind it

The geometric decoration is what makes ANNIVERSARIO Bianco particularly intriguing. From a distance, it resembles a precisely drawn black border; look more closely and the idea of traditional inlay work comes into focus. With this decorative technique, different veneers are precisely cut and assembled according to a design to create a pattern. The colour, structure and natural grain of the wood become part of the composition itself rather than the decoration simply being printed or painted onto the surface. Inlay has a long history and has been refined over centuries to create both geometric and decorative motifs. In this Natalini photo frame, that craft-led principle meets a refreshingly clear visual language. The result feels graphic without becoming stark and decorative without distracting from the photograph. Quite a lot of character for a frame measuring just 20 mm across.

Italian frame-making with its eye firmly on the picture

Natalini was founded in 1979 and has become particularly associated internationally with its inlaid photo frames. Its collections demonstrate just how varied wooden frames can be, moving from restrained surfaces to expressive colours and graphic decoration. ANNIVERSARIO Bianco is made in Italy and presents this relationship between material and design with appealing clarity. Black and white may be familiar companions, but the inlay gives the combination greater depth and personality. Details such as these allow a photo frame to become a considered home accessory in its own right, even once you know the photograph inside by heart. It also sits naturally with the LIVOSY approach: rather than filling a room with as much as possible, we prefer objects that bring atmosphere and find their place in everyday life without making a fuss about it.

For colour, monochrome and everything in between

The restrained palette makes the Natalini ANNIVERSARIO Bianco wonderfully easy to combine. Colour photographs bring warmth and energy against the pale wood, while black-and-white images can pick up the rhythm of the graphic border particularly well. Display the frame on a sideboard, shelf, console or bedside table, either on its own or alongside other Natalini photo frames to build a more personal collection. Different formats, colours and designs are welcome to sit together; memories rarely look as though they coordinated their outfits beforehand. Ceramics, vases, books and scented candles complement the lighter tones, while darker home accessories can echo the black detailing around the frame. Which leaves only one genuinely difficult decision: choosing the photograph that gets to go in first.
