Natalini: ANNIVERSARIO

Picture Frame Bianco 13x18 cm

A little graphic detail for the stories worth keeping

The favourite photograph can remain the centre of attention. An interesting border certainly does it no harm, though. The Natalini ANNIVERSARIO Bianco photo frame gives 13 x 18 cm photographs a light setting with a distinctive graphic accent. Its 20 mm wide frame is made from lacquered wood, combining white with fine black decoration that runs rhythmically around the picture. The effect remains pleasingly restrained: viewed from a little distance, the frame feels calm and clear; move closer and the small dark elements and lively structure of the pale surface begin to reveal themselves. The 13 x 18 cm photo size gives portraits, travel photographs, family pictures and favourite snapshots a little more presence on a sideboard, console, shelf or bedside table. It is practical, too. The back has a velvety covering and rotating tabs for inserting or changing the photograph, while the integrated stand allows the Natalini photo frame to be displayed in either portrait or landscape orientation. A good frame should, after all, be flexible enough for photographs that never agreed on a common plan.

Those little black squares are doing more than you think

The distinctive character of ANNIVERSARIO Bianco comes from the relationship between its pale wooden surface and dark geometric inlay decoration. Behind it lies a decorative technique with a remarkably long tradition. In classical inlay work, different veneers are precisely cut into individual shapes and then assembled according to a design to create the decoration. The natural shades, structures and grain of the wood become part of the composition itself. In other words, the motif is created through the material rather than simply being printed or painted onto the surface. Geometric decoration is particularly good at revealing how much precision can sit behind an apparently simple line. On ANNIVERSARIO Bianco, this creates an appealing contrast: black gives the pale frame definition and rhythm, while the character of the wood prevents the overall effect from becoming overly strict or technical.

Making rather lovely places for memories since 1979

Natalini was founded in 1979 and has become internationally associated in particular with its inlaid photo frames. The brand brings the long decorative tradition of inlay into frames designed to sit naturally within contemporary interiors. ANNIVERSARIO Bianco is made in Italy and expresses that relationship with particular clarity: wood and inlay craftsmanship meet a restrained palette of black and white. The result turns a functional photo frame into a home accessory with presence of its own, while still leaving plenty of visual space for the photograph. It is a balance that feels very much at home at LIVOSY too. An object can be interesting without trying too hard to be important. And a photo frame is certainly allowed to look good, even if nobody is likely to admit to looking at it more often than the photograph.

Black and white gets along with rather a lot of colour

The restrained design makes the Natalini ANNIVERSARIO Bianco frame easy to introduce into very different interiors and pair with all kinds of photographs. Black-and-white images naturally echo its graphic detailing, while colourful photographs can stand out beautifully against the pale surround. Placed on dark wood, the frame creates a stronger contrast; on lighter furniture, it becomes quieter and allows the black inlay to provide the definition. Several Natalini photo frames can also be combined to form a personal display. Mixing photo sizes, colours and designs creates a collection that can grow naturally without looking as though every centimetre was plotted in advance. Vases, ceramics, books and scented candles make relaxed companions. All that remains is choosing the photograph. At 13 x 18 cm, there is plenty of room for a memory that deserves a slightly bigger moment.
