PHILIPPI : Tree

Advent calendar

24 little doors and one rather big tree

December famously comes with 24 days to count down until Christmas. PHILIPPI gives every one of them its own little drawer. The Tree Advent Calendar translates the familiar Christmas tree into a clean, graphic shape with a natural wood look, turning the daily countdown into a decorative object that sits comfortably in a modern festive interior. At 60 cm high, it has enough presence for a sideboard, console or chest of drawers, without contributing a single pine needle to the floor. Its differently arranged drawers are marked with black numbers and can be filled with small gifts, sweets, handwritten notes or plans for days out during Advent. Round wooden knobs make each drawer easy to open while adding a warm, playful rhythm to the geometric design. Subtle graphic details, including a star and circle, interrupt the sequence of numbers with just the right amount of character. The pale wood finish also leaves plenty of room for your own approach to Christmas, whether natural and pared back or colourful and celebratory. An opening at the top completes the design and offers an additional option for positioning or hanging, depending on how you choose to display it.

A countdown worth bringing back next year

The Tree Advent Calendar does not arrive filled with chocolates or a predetermined selection of treats. That is rather the point. Its 24 compartments can be filled differently each year, turning it into an Advent tradition shaped around the people opening them. A favourite sweet today, a handwritten message tomorrow, perhaps a Christmas market visit or breakfast together at the weekend. The calendar becomes a small daily ritual rather than something that has served its purpose by Boxing Day. Its tree silhouette also works as Christmas decoration in its own right and feels particularly at home alongside natural materials, warm candlelight, paper stars, Christmas ornaments and restrained seasonal colours. For anyone who prefers adding thoughtfully to their Christmas decorations rather than reinventing them every December, Tree makes a quietly convincing companion.

December can handle a little design

PHILIPPI creates home accessories, gifts and lifestyle pieces with a distinctive balance of form and function. The owner-managed design company based near Hamburg has been shaped by Jan Philippi and has grown into an internationally recognised name. Its collections are characterised by considered forms and materials including stainless steel, iron, ceramics, wood and leather. The Tree Advent Calendar reveals a warmer side of that design language: wood and the instantly recognisable Christmas tree silhouette bring a sense of familiarity, while the geometric arrangement keeps the overall look contemporary. The result is PHILIPPI Christmas décor that is not tied to one fleeting seasonal trend. It is an approach that feels very much at home at LIVOSY too: festive pieces can create atmosphere while still being something we genuinely look forward to seeing again next year.

Wood, candlelight and a little anticipation

The Tree Advent Calendar works beautifully within a Christmas setting that combines different heights, textures and materials. Pair it with PHILIPPI Advent wreaths, decorative trees, reindeer or Christmas ornaments, then add candles, glassware or a simple vase to create an inviting arrangement. It can also sit alongside PHILIPPI bowls or picture frames without feeling like a temporary seasonal prop. One Tree Advent Calendar is supplied, measuring 60 cm in height, and the model is made in China. As for what belongs behind drawer number 24, we will leave that part to you. December should keep at least one secret.
