Two tiers, and suddenly even fruit looks like an invitation

The PHILIPPI NEGRETTO Étagère S brings order to the table without looking remotely like an exercise in tidying up. Two generous round aluminium bowls sit one above the other on a slender central stem, creating a surprising amount of serving space within a compact footprint. At approximately 28 cm high with a maximum diameter of 26 cm, this two-tier stand is easy to accommodate on a dining table, kitchen island or sideboard. The upper bowl measures approximately 20 cm in diameter, while the lower one measures around 25 cm. Designed by Flip, NEGRETTO is defined by its confident black colour and the subtle contrast between its finishes: the aluminium is powder-coated on the outside, while the enamelled interiors introduce a gentle sheen to the otherwise matt appearance. A circular handle completes the central stem, echoing the pared-back geometry while making the stand easier to carry. Weighing around 1 kg, it has a reassuring presence on the table. Fruit at breakfast, pastries with coffee, cheese and grapes in the evening or little bites with an aperitif: the PHILIPPI Étagère does not turn serving into a ceremony. It simply gives good things a rather good place to be.

Serving deserves a little more height

The appeal of an étagère becomes particularly clear when the table is already beginning to fill up. By using two levels, NEGRETTO S makes clever use of vertical space while leaving more room around it for plates, glasses and everything else that tends to arrive during a long meal. Its deep bowls also distinguish it from traditional tiered stands with flat plates. Fruit, nuts, chocolates, pastries or savoury bites sit securely while remaining open and inviting to share. Away from the dining table, the black étagère works equally well as an everyday piece in the kitchen or living area. Fill it with apples, pears or figs and it becomes a contemporary two-tier fruit bowl; at brunch, croissants can occupy the upper level while fresh fruit sits below. Once guests arrive, olives, cheese, crackers and other aperitif favourites can take over. Good hosting ideas do not have to be complicated.

From breakfast to the final glass

NEGRETTO S is particularly easy to combine thanks to its deep black finish. White or cream tableware creates a calm contrast, coloured ceramics introduce warmth, and clear or tinted glassware softens the graphic quality of the black. On a wooden table the result feels natural and relaxed, while on stone or a pale kitchen island the étagère takes on an almost sculptural presence. And there is no need to fill every centimetre. A few pears below, some grapes above and a little breathing room between them can be all it takes.
