In Vienna, a Melange is rarely just a coffee. It is a pause, a ritual and a moment that lingers a little longer than expected. The Sheyn Koyl Vase Melange 16 cm takes inspiration from exactly this feeling. Warm shades of brown blend softly into one another, echoing the gentle meeting of espresso and milk in a traditional Viennese coffee house. Produced using a continuous colour-gradient printing process, every vase develops its own unique transition, making each piece subtly different from the next.

Standing 16 cm tall with a diameter of 12.5 cm, the vase offers a compact yet expressive presence. The visible layers created by the 3D-printing process become an intentional part of the design, adding texture and depth to the surface. Light interacts beautifully with the curved geometry, creating changing shadows and highlights throughout the day. A glass insert is included for fresh flowers and water. Without the insert, the vase itself is not waterproof.

A playful shape with surprising elegance

The Koyl collection moves away from traditional vase silhouettes. Designed by Nicolas Gold in Vienna in 2026, it features interconnected spherical forms that merge seamlessly into one sculptural object. The result feels playful and creative while maintaining a sophisticated and refined appearance.

In the Melange colourway, these rounded volumes gain an additional sense of warmth and softness. The subtle gradient highlights every curve and contour, creating an object that feels both contemporary and inviting.

Where architecture meets contemporary living

Founded by Nicolas Gold and Markus Schaffer, Sheyn is a Vienna-based design studio rooted in architectural thinking. Through advanced digital modelling and innovative manufacturing techniques, the studio creates objects that challenge conventional design while remaining highly functional.

Each vase is produced locally in Vienna from plant-based PLA using precision 3D-printing technology. This process minimises waste and allows for complex geometries that would be difficult to achieve through traditional manufacturing methods. The result is a contemporary decorative object that combines sustainability, craftsmanship and innovation.
