The WEICH TODO Small valet tray in Taupe gives those everyday essentials a dedicated home while quietly adding texture and warmth to the room. Measuring approximately 20 x 20 cm and made in Peru, the tray combines supple cowhide leather with an inlay of genuine alpaca fur. Taupe sits somewhere between warm beige and soft brown, while the natural variations of the fur give the colour depth rather than uniformity. Press studs secure the leather at each of the four corners, creating TODO's gently curved sides and distinctive tray shape. The Andes are more than a backdrop to this story

WEICH Couture Alpaca grew from a connection with Peru that began years before the company itself. Founder Jannik Weich first encountered the country as a teenager and returned on later journeys to learn more about its people, alpaca culture and the distinctive natural fibre. Together with David Kuttschrütter, he founded the first WEICH project in 2017. Today, the brand brings traditional Peruvian craftsmanship together with a German approach to quality, working with specialised producers and workshops in Peru. According to WEICH, Royal Alpaca is used for its alpaca fur products. The brand also explains the provenance of the hides transparently: alpacas in the Andes are primarily kept for their wool, and WEICH states that no animals are killed specifically for its fur products. The hides used come from animals that have died naturally or are a by-product of meat production, giving this remarkable natural material a further purpose.

Taupe happens to get along with almost everything

Place TODO Small in Taupe on pale timber and it feels warm and understated; against dark wood it creates a softer contrast, while ceramics, glass and metal bring out the tactile character of the alpaca fur.
