A story that began high in the Andes

WEICH Couture Alpaca grew from founder Jannik Weich's longstanding connection with Peru. He first encountered the country as a teenager and returned on later journeys to learn more about its culture, people and close relationship with alpacas. Together with David Kuttschrütter, he developed this fascination into the WEICH brand in 2017. The company continues to work with specialised partners and workshops in Peru, combining local craftsmanship with a considered approach to its natural material. According to WEICH, animals are not killed specifically for the fur used in its products. The hides processed by the company come from animals that have died naturally or are a by-product of meat production, allowing an existing material to be used rather than discarded. It is a thoughtful background to an object designed not for a fleeting season, but for many cold evenings to come.
