A darker tone with a very soft side
The WEICH CALMO Junior hot water bottle in Dark Champagne feels like a familiar winter classic that has found a rather better wardrobe. Beneath the dense brown-grey alpaca fur sits a compact rubber inner bottle with a 0.60-litre capacity. Measuring 23 x 18 cm, the Junior version is pleasantly easy to handle and just right for warming the stomach, hands, cold feet or that spot beside you on the sofa. Its handcrafted fur has a deep, understated colour that moves between warm brown, taupe and smoky grey, making it easy to pair with natural interiors. At the same time, CALMO benefits from the distinctive thermal properties of alpaca fibre. The fine fibres help retain warmth while creating a soft layer between the body and the hot water bottle. Fill the inner bottle with water at a maximum temperature of 60°C; boiling water should not be used, and the bottle is not suitable for the microwave. The inner bottle should be checked regularly for damage and replaced no later than two years after purchase. Sensible, certainly. But above all, very comforting.

WEICH Couture Alpaca grew from a close personal connection with Peru. Founder Jannik Weich first visited the country as a teenager and, on later trips, developed a deep interest in alpaca culture, the people of the Andes and the remarkable fibre itself. Together with David Kuttschrütter, he created WEICH Couture Alpaca, combining traditional Peruvian craftsmanship with a contemporary approach to home and lifestyle accessories. The brand works with specialised partners and workshops in Peru and uses carefully selected alpaca qualities for its fur products. According to WEICH, the hides used come from animals that have died naturally or whose fur is a by-product of meat production; animals are not killed specifically for their fur. That transparency is as much a part of the product story as the softness itself. Dark Champagne settles in beautifully
The deeper colour gives CALMO Junior a calmer, slightly more distinctive presence than paler versions.
