A soft story with a long journey behind it

WEICH Couture Alpaca grew from founder Jannik Weich's personal connection with Peru. He first visited the country as a teenager and later returned to experience its culture, people and traditional relationship with alpacas more closely. Together with David Kuttschrütter, he developed this fascination into the WEICH brand in 2017. Today, the company works with specialised partners and workshops in Peru, where the AMOR hot water bottle is handcrafted. For its alpaca fur products, WEICH states that it uses Royal Alpaca and follows a transparent approach to sourcing. According to the brand, animals are not killed specifically for their hides. Instead, the fur comes from alpacas that have died naturally or is used as a by-product of meat production. An existing natural material is therefore given another purpose through careful craftsmanship.
