LED Glass Candle Amber 24 cm

A little extra height for long December evenings

The Wirtz LED Glass Candle in Amber, standing 24 cm high, turns light itself into part of the decoration. Its cylindrical body is made from amber-coloured glass and topped with a drop-shaped glass point reminiscent of a stylised candle flame. Inside, fine wires carrying small LEDs wind their way through the glass body. Once illuminated, they create numerous reflections and star-like points of light across the tinted surface, giving this 24 cm decorative lamp a surprising sense of depth. The warm amber glass enhances the inviting effect and ensures the candle remains decorative even when switched off. It is battery-powered, designed for indoor use and features an integrated timer. This means it can be positioned away from a socket on a sideboard, windowsill or chest of drawers, or incorporated into a festive table setting. A candle that neither drips wax nor asks where you left the matches. During Advent, that feels like a rather useful advantage.

Here, the light does most of the decorating

At 24 cm high, this version has enough presence to work beautifully on its own. Yet the design remains pleasingly restrained: glass, a clear silhouette and numerous tiny points of light are all it needs to create atmosphere. Reflections shift across the amber-coloured glass as you move around it, making the LEDs appear more numerous and giving the light a layered quality. The glass candle works as an alternative to a conventional decorative lamp or as a companion to lanterns, candles and other Christmas lighting. Battery operation means there is no cable to work into your display, while the integrated timer makes recurring use more convenient. Surround it with fir branches and pine cones for a traditional Advent setting, or combine it with wood, smoky glass, cream and metallic details for a calmer, contemporary mood. One LED Glass Candle is supplied.

The night sky appears to have found its way into the glass

Behind the glass candle is Lichterweihnacht Handelsagentur Stefan Wirtz, based in Jüchen, Germany. The company specialises in decorative LED lighting for Christmas and winter, including illuminated stars, light rings, light trees and fairy lights. Many of its designs focus on the interaction between light and form rather than an abundance of festive ornament. The Amber LED Glass Candle translates that idea particularly clearly: its silhouette recalls familiar candlelight, while the illumination itself comes from energy-efficient LED technology inside the glass. This allows Lichterweihnacht LED lighting to sit just as naturally among traditional Christmas decorations as it does in a more pared-back interior. That balance is part of its appeal: Christmas is unmistakably present, without needing to announce itself from every available surface.

Different heights, plenty of possibilities

The 24 cm LED Glass Candle becomes particularly appealing when arranged with other sizes of the amber glass candle. Varying heights create rhythm and depth, while the repeated material and colour keep the composition visually calm. On a sideboard, several candles can form a small landscape of light alongside fir branches, pine cones or a few carefully chosen baubles. On a windowsill, a group of glass candles takes on the character of softly illuminated columns. Prefer things simpler? Let the 24 cm version stand by itself. Amber pairs naturally with deep green, warm wood, brown, cream and golden tones, making it easy to introduce into an existing Christmas scheme. The Wirtz LED Glass Candle can then stay around beyond Advent too, accompanying those dark winter evenings when a little more light remains an exceptionally good idea.
