Product information "Waving Gnome Black Velvet 16.5 cm"
Black suits this gnome, even at Christmas
The black Lichterweihnacht Waving Gnome happily skips the traditional red hat and still looks unmistakably ready for Christmas. His long, softly curved pointed hat sits low over his face, leaving only a round nose and generous beard on show. One arm rests by his side while the other is raised in a friendly wave. This Christmas figure by Wirtz measures 16.5 cm high, 12 cm wide and 9 cm deep. Made from plastic, it is covered in a black velvet-effect surface that gives the rounded silhouette an unexpectedly soft appearance. The deep black colour puts a contemporary spin on the familiar Christmas gnome and makes him particularly easy to place in modern interiors. His compact proportions work beautifully on a sideboard, windowsill or shelf, as well as within a larger festive display. Designed for indoor use, the Waving Gnome is battery operated and features a timer function. The required batteries are not included; one black gnome is supplied. Black Christmas décor? This little fellow appears to have settled the matter already.
A quiet colour with plenty of character
Among red baubles, green branches and glittering stars, black can feel like a visual pause. That is precisely what makes this Waving Gnome so appealing. The monochrome design draws attention to the silhouette and velvety texture rather than relying on additional embellishment. It works naturally with restrained contemporary Christmas décor, yet provides an equally interesting contrast within more traditional arrangements. At 16.5 cm high, the gnome has enough presence to be noticed without asking for much space. Warm candlelight softens the black velvet effect, while glass, silver and glossy baubles introduce an appealing contrast in texture. For a more natural setting, add wood, evergreen branches and paper decorations. Red, green or pink can provide a splash of colour, too. The gnome seems relaxed about the whole thing.
Christmas does not have to think in red and green
Lichterweihnacht is part of the portfolio of Handelsagentur Stefan Wirtz in Jüchen, Germany. Its range focuses on decorative products and lighting objects for the Christmas and winter season, with an emphasis on form and atmosphere. The black Waving Gnome introduces a particularly graphic side to this festive world. The familiar Christmas figure takes on a different expression through its dark colour and velvety surface without losing its friendly character. This kind of subtle change in perspective sits naturally with the LIVOSY approach: traditions can remain recognisable while still being interpreted in a fresh way. After all, personal Christmas décor does not need to look as though every piece arrived as part of the same set. Things often become more interesting when one object steps slightly out of line. Or, in this case, waves from it.
Black is rather good company for colour
Displayed alone on a light windowsill or sideboard, the black gnome creates a clear, confident accent. Place him among other Waving Gnomes and he becomes a calm counterpoint to red, green and pink. White, grey and silver create a restrained winter palette, while the velvet-effect surface introduces softness among glass, metal, wood and evergreen branches. Near the entrance, the raised hand turns naturally into a welcoming gesture; in the living room, the figure settles easily among candles and other Christmas decorations. Whether displayed individually or alongside his more colourful companions, this Lichterweihnacht Waving Gnome shows that a touch of black can feel surprisingly at home during the festive season.
