Pink does Christmas a little differently
The Lichterweihnacht Waving Gnome in pink is refreshingly unapologetic about his choice of colour. With a long pointed hat, round nose, generous beard and one hand raised in greeting, this 16.5 cm Christmas figure by Wirtz brings a playful note to the festive season. Made from plastic, the gnome is covered in an intense pink velvet-effect surface that gives him a soft, almost textile appearance and beautifully emphasises his rounded silhouette. Measuring 12 cm wide and 9 cm deep, this little Christmas gnome is compact enough for a sideboard, shelf, windowsill or festive console display. He is designed for indoor use, is battery operated and features a practical timer function. The required batteries are not included; one pink Waving Gnome is supplied. And yes, placed between fir branches, candlelight and red baubles, he gets noticed. We suspect that was the idea all along.
A little colour among the greenery and candlelight
Pink may not be the first colour that springs to mind when you think of traditional Christmas décor. That is precisely why this Waving Gnome works so well. The monochrome design is calm and contemporary enough to let the bold colour do the talking, with no need for glitter or an abundance of tiny details. The distinctive hat, long beard and waving hand give him all the personality he needs. At 16.5 cm high, the figure is easy to add to an existing Christmas arrangement while still holding his own. Pair pink with fir branches, wood and warm natural tones for an unexpected splash of colour, or add red for a cheerful and expressive festive palette. Black, grey, white and silver create a more graphic contrast and temper the sweetness of the pink. Christmas decorating, after all, is allowed to play with the rules a little.
The more playful side of the festive season
Lichterweihnacht is part of the portfolio of Handelsagentur Stefan Wirtz in Jüchen, Germany. Its range focuses primarily on decorative products for Christmas and winter, bringing together contemporary shapes and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The pink Waving Gnome takes a deliberately playful approach to that world. Instead of relying on traditional festive colours, he combines a clean silhouette with a velvety surface and a colour that has plenty of character. The result is instantly recognisable as a Christmas gnome, yet pleasantly different from the usual seasonal decorations. That idea sits rather nicely with LIVOSY, too: Christmas can hold on to familiar traditions without looking exactly the same every year. A familiar little gnome in decidedly unfamiliar pink proves the point rather well.
One gnome is charming. Four could start a party.
On his own, the pink Waving Gnome brings plenty of character to a shelf, side table or hallway. He also enjoys colourful company. Green and red introduce familiar Christmas shades, black adds a striking contrast, while pink provides the playful twist. Complete the arrangement with fir branches, candles, simple baubles, wood and other natural materials. The velvet-effect finish creates an appealing textural contrast with glossy glass and metal, adding depth without making the display feel busy. For anyone who prefers a few carefully chosen Christmas figures rather than a room full of decorations, this little character needs surprisingly little around him to make an impression. And by the front door, that raised hand makes even more sense: he has already taken care of saying “welcome” before you have opened it.
