A friendly hello dressed in Christmas red
The red Lichterweihnacht Waving Gnome is ready to greet everyone before the first guest has even taken off their coat. One raised hand offers a cheerful wave, while the low-sitting pointed hat, round nose and generous beard take care of the rest of the introduction. This Christmas figure by Wirtz measures 16.5 cm high, 12 cm wide and 9 cm deep and is made from plastic with a velvety red surface. The rich colour and soft, almost textile appearance give its rounded silhouette a contemporary presence without losing any of its familiar festive character. Glitter and elaborate embellishments are happily left out; the hat, beard and friendly gesture provide quite enough personality. Its compact proportions make the gnome easy to display on a sideboard, shelf, windowsill or festive console. Designed for indoor use, the figure is battery operated and features a timer function. Batteries are not included. Each delivery contains one red Waving Gnome.
Red knows Christmas. So does this gnome.
Red belongs to the festive season alongside evergreen branches and candlelight, but here the classic colour gets a slightly different treatment. Rather than glossy surfaces or glittering details, this Christmas gnome relies on a velvet-effect finish and clean monochrome styling. The result makes the bold red feel rich and soft at the same time. At 16.5 cm high, the figure has enough presence to remain visible among branches, baubles and candles while still fitting comfortably into smaller spaces. Pair it with natural materials such as wood, fir and paper, or place it alongside glass and metal for an appealing contrast between smooth and velvety textures. It works just as well without an elaborate display: an empty spot on a shelf, perhaps a candle nearby, and the job is done. Even Christmas decorations deserve an easy shift.
A familiar tradition in a rather rounder form
Lichterweihnacht is part of the portfolio of Handelsagentur Stefan Wirtz in Jüchen, Germany. Its range focuses on decorative products for the Christmas and winter season, combining contemporary, restrained design with a warm atmosphere. The red Waving Gnome reveals the more playful side of this world. A familiar festive colour meets simplified shapes and an unusual velvety surface, making the figure feel both recognisably Christmassy and refreshingly current. That balance is part of its appeal: it creates an immediate festive mood without calling upon every Christmas decorating tradition at once. It also sits naturally with the LIVOSY approach to objects with personality. We like decorations that create atmosphere while leaving enough room for your own way of celebrating. This little gnome manages that with a single wave.
One wave away from a little gnome gathering
Red is perfectly happy on its own, although this gnome certainly does not object to company. Pair it with green for a familiar festive palette or introduce pink for a more playful twist. Black adds a calm graphic contrast, while white, grey and silver allow the rich red to stand out clearly. Fir branches, simple baubles, candles and natural wood complete the setting without making it feel crowded. Different coloured gnomes can be arranged together as a cheerful little group, yet each figure has enough character to work individually. Place the red Waving Gnome near the entrance and that raised hand gains another purpose altogether: welcoming your guests. A small Christmas companion that decorates, greets and brings a little festive cheer into the room – which sounds like quite enough work for one gnome.
