Sompex is one of those brands that allows lighting to become part of the room rather than simply illuminating it. Different colours, finishes and unexpected forms turn a table lamp into an interior object in its own right. On a living-room sideboard, beside the bed, in the home office or outside on the table, a little personality is very much allowed.

Many of the LED lights in our Sompex selection are cordless and rechargeable, allowing the light to move wherever you need it. Other designs, including DOGGY and CUBIC, are corded and intended for indoor use. The collection therefore ranges from flexible lighting for terraces and balconies to decorative pieces designed to claim a more permanent place indoors.

TROLL RC rather likes its independence

The Sompex TROLL RC is a dimmable rechargeable table lamp designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Its distinctive pleated shade and choice of colours and finishes give it an instantly recognisable look. With an IP54 rating, it can be used in living spaces as well as on terraces and balconies. Depending on use, its rechargeable battery provides up to 170 hours of cordless light.

The touch sensor provides stepless dimming and a choice of three warm-white colour temperatures: 2200K, 2700K and 3000K. For several TROLL RC lamps, an optional remote control can operate multiple compatible lights simultaneously within a range of approximately 20 metres, adjusting brightness and colour temperature together.

A good bottle deserves a second life

TOP 2.0 turns the conventional table-lamp idea on its head. Instead of supplying a traditional base, the LED top sits on a bottle. Its conical silicone stopper fits different bottle necks, leaving you to decide what the finished lamp looks like. It might be a wine bottle from a memorable trip, a champagne bottle worth keeping or simply a shape and colour that works with your interior. When you fancy a change, change the bottle.

The Sompex TOP 2.0 is a dimmable rechargeable light with an IP44 rating and is designed for use both indoors and outdoors. It offers warm-white settings as well as RGB light and comes in a range of colour variants. What we particularly like is the combination of light and personal choice: a bottle that already has a story can become part of a completely individual lighting object.

PULSE proves that light needn't sit still

With PULSE, even the LED filament becomes part of the show. It appears to float inside the lamp and is held in position magnetically. The touch sensor offers three light modes: reduced brightness, full brightness and a pulsing light effect. The rechargeable table lamp charges via USB-C and, with its IP54 rating, is designed for both indoor and outdoor use.

PULSE becomes particularly interesting through its choice of colours. Alongside quieter shades, Sompex offers versions in pink, apricot, turquoise and several neon tones. That can work just as well as a small splash of colour on a desk as it does on a sideboard or outside during a long evening. Grey and beige have done enough overtime already.

With CUBIC, the bulb gets the final say

CUBIC takes another approach. The corded table lamp has an E27 socket and deliberately puts the bulb at the centre of its design. Sompex offers decorative LED bulbs featuring different motifs and lettering, allowing the character of the lamp to change without replacing the lamp itself.

That flexibility makes CUBIC particularly appealing as an interior feature or gift. Choose a motif with personal meaning and swap it for another compatible E27 decorative bulb whenever the mood changes. For anyone who likes their lighting with a small statement attached, it offers rather more freedom than the conventional table lamp.

Which Sompex light belongs where?

For living rooms and bedrooms, lamps with adjustable brightness are particularly useful because the lighting can adapt throughout the evening. TROLL RC, for example, can provide brighter light earlier on before being dimmed for a softer atmosphere later. Its three warm-white colour temperatures add further flexibility. For a smaller decorative pool of light, PULSE or models from the MY collection are worth considering. The rechargeable MY table lamp is also dimmable and designed for indoor and outdoor use.

For terraces and balconies, the individual IP rating deserves closer attention. TROLL RC and PULSE are rated IP54, while TOP 2.0 is rated IP44. An IP rating does not mean a lamp should be left permanently exposed to every weather condition, however, so the manufacturer's instructions for the individual model should always be followed.

Light objects and the occasional eccentric

Our Sompex selection deliberately goes beyond conventional table lamps. DOGGY, MONO and the seasonal GLAMOR lights bring a more playful side to the collection, while CUBIC can change character through interchangeable bulbs. What connects them is the idea that lighting can be part of the interior itself rather than simply a functional necessity.
