Advent, with a little more character

The PHILIPPI BOSCHENDAL Advent wreath in gold reinterprets the familiar Christmas classic as a contemporary interior object, leaving plenty of room for your own ideas along the way. This smaller version of the collection measures 40 cm in diameter and 12 cm high, making it a natural choice for a dining table, coffee table, sideboard or console. Made from powder-coated steel, its seemingly free-flowing strands of metal form an open structure reminiscent of a loosely woven wreath of branches. Only in gold, and with considerably fewer needles to sweep up. Four integrated candle holders are evenly positioned around the wreath and designed to hold pillar candles. Despite its airy appearance, BOSCHENDAL weighs a substantial 2.8 kg. The open centre can be filled with pine cones, nuts, greenery, baubles or other Christmas decorations, while leaving it deliberately pared back allows the contrast between warm gold and pale candles to take centre stage. The company designs and produces its own collections; the BOSCHENDAL Advent wreath is made from steel in India and finished with its gold-coloured powder coating. Quite a pedigree for an object that ultimately has a very simple job: making the weeks before Christmas feel a little more atmospheric.

The gold finish makes BOSCHENDAL surprisingly easy to combine with different Christmas styles. Cream or white pillar candles keep the look calm and allow the metal to glow warmly in candlelight. Natural shades, dark wood and understated tableware work beautifully alongside it, as do clear glass, white porcelain and occasional stronger colour accents. Fill the centre with pine cones, nuts and evergreen branches for a more traditional Christmas setting, or use just a few carefully chosen ornaments for a contemporary interpretation.
