Spaghetti in the pan, Parmesan at the ready, and portion control has once again become a matter of generous interpretation? PRINTWORKS The Essentials Pasta Tools brings three useful accessories together for precisely this sort of evening: a cheese grater, pasta serving tongs and a spaghetti measure made from metal. The latter features four differently sized openings for measuring one, two, three or four portions, bringing a welcome degree of certainty to the familiar question of how much pasta is actually enough. The three tools are presented in a light-blue, book-style design box made with cotton and chipboard, with a fitted black EVA insert keeping everything neatly in place. At 27.5 cm high, 20.2 cm wide and 5.3 cm deep, it sits comfortably on a kitchen shelf while looking far too considered to disappear behind the saucepans. Gold-coloured ornamentation, white and dark-blue lettering and the generous PASTA typography give the box plenty of character before dinner has even started. Inside is everything needed for the important stretch between “the water is boiling” and “more Parmesan?”
Three tools for a very good bowl of pasta
The PRINTWORKS The Essentials Pasta set focuses on the little jobs that regularly come with spaghetti, linguine and other long pasta. Before cooking, the spaghetti measure helps estimate the amount required for up to four portions. Once the pasta is ready, the serving tongs make it easier to lift and portion noodles from the pan or serving bowl, while the grater takes care of Parmesan, Pecorino or another hard cheese at the table. Together, the three pieces create a compact and useful set without filling the kitchen with unnecessary gadgets. It works just as naturally in your own kitchen as it does as a gift for a housewarming, birthday, Christmas or someone whose answer to pasta is generally yes. Afterwards, every tool returns to its own place in the fitted black insert, ready for next time and spared the usual expedition through several kitchen drawers.
