Leblon Delienne: Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog Original 28 cm

Standing still was never part of the plan

Blue spikes, red trainers and a golden ring. For anyone who grew up with a games console, that's quite a lot of nostalgia in one little scene. The Sonic the Hedgehog Original sculpture by Leblon Delienne brings SEGA's legendary blue hedgehog into the world of contemporary interior design, although convincing Sonic to stay in one place might be a challenge. Standing 28 cm tall and measuring 30 cm wide, this expressive figure captures the famous video game character in a dynamic pose, looking as though he's about to dash off on another adventure. His vibrant blue body, distinctive swept-back spikes, large green eyes and warm beige muzzle are faithfully recreated, alongside his oversized white gloves and unmistakable red trainers with white stripes and yellow detailing. In one hand, Sonic holds a golden ring, a familiar symbol from his gaming universe. Crafted from epoxy resin with a matt finish, the multicoloured sculpture balances bold colours with carefully modelled shapes and a strong sense of movement. It's an officially licensed SEGA character transformed into a decorative design object, ready to bring a little gaming history to a bookshelf, sideboard or thoughtfully arranged living space. And for once, there's no need to keep up with him.

One golden ring, a thousand memories

Since his debut in 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog has raced his way into video game history and become one of the most recognisable characters in popular culture. His extraordinary speed, confident expression and unmistakable silhouette have remained familiar to generations of players. Leblon Delienne captures that energy in a three-dimensional sculpture that feels playful without losing its sculptural presence. Look closely and there's a wonderful sense of movement in every detail: the wide stance, the forward-looking expression and the outstretched arm holding the golden ring all suggest that Sonic is only seconds away from his next adventure. With a height of 28 cm and a width of 30 cm, the figure has enough presence to become a focal point whilst remaining easy to incorporate into an existing interior. The rich blue colour looks particularly striking against natural wood, pale stone, understated ceramics or darker shelving. It's a thoughtful gift for SEGA enthusiasts, gaming collectors and anyone who remembers the excitement of guiding Sonic through his first adventures. A little piece of gaming nostalgia, with a distinctly grown-up appreciation for design.

From pixels to a place on the shelf

Turning an animated gaming character into a sculpture requires more than simply recreating a familiar shape. It takes an understanding of movement, expression and the details that make a character instantly recognisable. For around four decades, French sculpture atelier Leblon Delienne has been exploring precisely this relationship between pop culture and craftsmanship. Based in Normandy, the workshop transforms characters from animation, comics, film and gaming into carefully developed sculptures and design objects. Its creative process brings together artistic interpretation, sculptural expertise and meticulous attention to detail. This dedication to craftsmanship has earned Leblon Delienne the prestigious Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) distinction, awarded by the French government to businesses preserving and developing exceptional artisanal skills. Alongside Sonic, the atelier's creative universe includes beloved Disney characters, the Peanuts and Warner Bros. favourites. Each sculpture offers a new way of enjoying a familiar cultural icon, bringing stories from the screen into everyday surroundings. It's this combination of craftsmanship, personality and lasting emotional connection that makes Leblon Delienne a natural fit for the thoughtfully curated world of LIVOSY.

A little speed amongst the slower moments

Sonic looks surprisingly at home in a calm, carefully considered interior. Place him beside a collection of art books, a simple table lamp or a favourite ceramic piece and his vivid blue silhouette creates a playful contrast without feeling out of place. The golden ring adds a distinctive finishing touch, whilst his energetic pose gives the sculpture a sense of personality from every angle. For collectors, Sonic the Hedgehog Original can become part of a personal pop culture collection alongside other Leblon Delienne creations, from Disney favourites to familiar comic book characters. Equally appealing as a standalone piece, the sculpture brings together the unmistakable world of SEGA, French sculptural craftsmanship and the pleasure of surrounding yourself with objects that hold personal meaning. It's a gift for someone who grew up racing through Sonic's colourful adventures, or perhaps a little reminder of your own gaming days. After all, some childhood favourites deserve a place in the grown-up world. Especially the ones who never learned to slow down.
