The PHILIPPI CHURCHILL Hip Flask S is made for those good spirits that do not necessarily need to stay at home. Its compact, almost square silhouette with softly rounded corners gives the traditional hip flask a pleasantly restrained update. Made from polished stainless steel, CHURCHILL has a mirror-like silver finish and is topped by a spherical stopper that gives the simple body its distinctive character. The smaller version holds 0.115 litres, or 115 ml, and measures 12 cm high, 9 cm wide and a slim 3 cm deep. Weighing 0.185 kg, it is easy to take along on travels, days out, weddings or long afternoons outdoors. This PHILIPPI hip flask is manufactured in China. Its purpose remains refreshingly straightforward: add a favourite spirit, close it securely and save it for later. Some accessories, after all, are rather good at creating a little anticipation.

PHILIPPI is an owner-managed design company headquartered in Henstedt-Ulzburg near Hamburg. Built by Jan Philippi, the brand creates home accessories alongside gifts and objects for travel, work and the bar, and is now represented internationally. Clean forms, functionality and a distinctive approach to materials such as stainless steel are recurring elements of its design language. That is also where CHURCHILL finds its character. Rather than trying to reinvent the traditional hip flask, PHILIPPI plays with its proportions and details. The compact body feels soft and understated, the reflective stainless steel adds presence and the spherical stopper provides an almost playful finishing touch. CHURCHILL S is the more compact version in the range and a natural choice when 0.115 litres is plenty and travelling light matters. For a little more capacity, CHURCHILL L offers 0.17 litres in the same distinctive design. The flask also pairs easily with selected bar accessories, a tumbler or a decanter to create a more personal gift. Stainless steel can be mixed with glass, timber or leather for a combination of textures that complements CHURCHILL without making things feel overly coordinated. And once you are out and about? There is not much else required beyond the right place, good company and a reason to open it. In our experience, that last part tends to take care of itself.
