Kähler: Hammershøi Christmas

Snowman

A Winter Guest Dressed for the Occasion

This snowman clearly takes Christmas rather seriously, at least when it comes to his outfit. Wearing a brown top hat, a blue scarf and a cheerful smile, the KÄHLER Hammershøi Christmas Snowman brings a little Scandinavian winter magic into your home, without leaving a puddle on the furniture. Made from white porcelain, this decorative Christmas figurine measures 11.5 cm in height and 5 cm in diameter. Its softly fluted surface reflects the distinctive design of the Hammershøi collection, while the glossy white glaze provides a beautiful backdrop for its delicate illustrations. Rosy cheeks, dark buttons, a scarf featuring a tiny reindeer and charming woodland details give the snowman plenty of personality. A delicate fawn and a branch with a hanging Christmas ornament decorate the lower part of the figure. His brown hat and outstretched twig arms complete the playful look. Designed by Hans-Christian Bauer and Rikke Jacobsen, this multicoloured porcelain decoration brings traditional Danish craftsmanship and a gentle sense of humour together. Place him on a windowsill, a sideboard or amongst fir branches on your Christmas table and he will look right at home.

All the Joy of Snow, None of the Cold

Christmas decorations have a wonderful way of bringing familiar memories back into the room. The snowman from the KÄHLER Hammershøi Christmas collection captures that feeling through delicate winter illustrations and a quietly expressive design. Its compact proportions make it easy to include in a festive arrangement without overwhelming the space. Display it beside candle holders, on a decorative tray or on its own amongst your favourite objects. The white porcelain looks particularly lovely alongside natural wood, evergreen branches and soft linen. And unlike his snowy cousins outdoors, this little fellow can return every December, regardless of what the weather has planned.

A Little Snowman with Quite a Story

Behind that friendly smile lies a rich history of Danish ceramic design. KÄHLER began in 1839 as a pottery workshop in Næstved, later becoming known for its creative collaborations with leading artists. The characteristic grooves of the Hammershøi collection are rooted in the work of Svend Hammershøi, whose distinctive approach to form helped shape the brand's design heritage. For Hammershøi Christmas, designer Hans-Christian Bauer's interpretation of this tradition meets the delicate, nature-inspired illustrations of Rikke Jacobsen. Her poetic Christmas motifs introduce warmth and personality to the understated porcelain forms. At LIVOSY, we appreciate precisely this kind of thoughtful design: objects with a story, made to be enjoyed over many festive seasons rather than forgotten when the decorations come down.

Good Company for the Festive Season

The snowman feels particularly at home alongside other pieces from the KÄHLER Hammershøi Christmas collection. Pair him with decorated porcelain plates, mugs and candle holders for a festive table with a distinctly Nordic character, or arrange him with other Christmas figurines and a few natural branches for a relaxed seasonal display. He also makes a thoughtful Christmas gift for anyone who appreciates Scandinavian design and charming details. At just 11.5 cm tall, he is small enough to fit into almost any arrangement, yet expressive enough to catch the eye. A cheerful little porcelain companion you will be pleased to welcome back year after year.
