The PHILIPPI Santa Christmas ornament from the NES collection translates one of Christmas's most familiar characters into surprisingly simple shapes and natural-coloured beechwood. Instead of bright red, there are warm wood tones; instead of elaborate detailing, a long pointed hat, a suggested beard and a softly rounded body tell the story. It is precisely this restraint that gives the little Santa his friendly character. Measuring 7 cm high, 3 cm long and 4 cm wide, the ornament slips easily between fir branches, onto a winter branch or into an Advent arrangement.
