Smallest elk, surprisingly big personality

NILS S seems to have Christmas figured out: put on a warm coat, look cheerful and let the rest of the decorations do their thing. The small PHILIPPI Elk from the NILS collection combines natural beechwood with dense, dark brown faux fur, bringing a warm and characterful mix of materials to festive decorating. At 11 cm high, 10 cm wide and 8 cm long, this Christmas figure is deliberately compact, making it easy to place on the dining table, a windowsill, bookshelf or sideboard, or amongst candles and an Advent wreath. Its head, antlers and four slender legs are made from beechwood, providing a lovely contrast to the curly fur and creating the distinctive NILS silhouette. Weighing just 0.1 kg, the little elk is easy to move around whenever the Christmas arrangement changes. Its dark fur looks particularly inviting alongside pale wood, cream textiles, fir greenery and warm candlelight. Its greatest talent, however, is rather difficult to measure: NILS S looks remarkably content with both itself and the world around it.

Small enough to find all the good spots

It is precisely the compact size that makes NILS S such an easy companion throughout Advent and winter. On a festive dining table, the PHILIPPI Elk adds a playful detail without competing with glassware, tableware and candles. Place it amongst branches and Christmas ornaments on a console, or let it appear unexpectedly between books on a shelf. The natural combination of beechwood and faux fur creates atmosphere without relying on glitter or traditional festive colours, allowing NILS to sit comfortably in contemporary Christmas interiors as well as more classic settings.

The little elk becomes particularly charming as part of the wider NILS family. Different sizes and fur colours can be combined freely, with varying heights creating a relaxed miniature winter scene. Clear forms and designs intended to remain relevant beyond short-lived trends are characteristic of its approach. PHILIPPI became particularly well known for its stainless-steel designs; NILS reveals a much softer and distinctly playful side of the brand’s design language.

Beechwood and shaggy faux fur create a deliberately warm, tactile combination. The figure has humour without becoming a novelty and personality without demanding attention.
